Product Introduction

EMEI is the third generation NVMe SSD controller independently developed by DERA and it is also DERA's first enterprise-class controller that supports PCIe 4.0.

 

EMEI further optimizes the technical architecture while maintaining the high performance, high reliability and large capacity. The computing power of the built-in CPU is enhanced and more acceleration engines are provided on the data path to ensure industry-leading data processing capabilities. Designed using 12nm process technology, it further reduces chip size and power consumption.

 

The EMEI controller supports NAND flash from all major manufacturers and is compatible with NVMe 2.0 protocols, including ZNS (Zoned Namespace). It implements performance isolation technology to improve product performance while giving the product good design flexibility. EMEI integrates DERA's self-developed LDPC error correction algorithm, supports end-to-end data protection, and includes built-in AES and SM2/SM3/SM4 algorithm engines, ensuring superior reliability and ultra-high performance for the product.

Depending on the actual target requirements and product definitions, developers can flexibly choose among various options such as NAND channel number and capacity, DRAM channel and capacity, DRAM ECC switch, DRAM and/or NAND interface transfer rate, etc., to achieve an optimized combination.
EMEI controller provides flexible design options. Based on the EMEI controller, developers can achieve balanced design and product differentiation in several dimensions such as cost, power consumption, and performance.
